TV Chef Carl re-writes the menu - It's Bargelicious!
Chef Carl's exciting new menu just has to be experienced. He reviewed every one of the pubs old dishes, even every ingredient and made lots of improvements. So now you can be sure of getting great taste, great quality and loads of exciting new dishes.
The new daily specials reflect Carl's passion for fresh local produce and if fish is your thing then the fresh fish specials won't disappoint. Recent stars included, Smoked Haddock and Leek Fishcakes served with Herby Crème Fresh and Salad, £9.50 or Home Smoked Duck Breast slices with Pink Grapefruit and Raspberry Vinaigrette £6 or main £11.50. Committed carnivores will enjoy the '1810 Steak 'n'Ale Pie', made with succulent pieces of beef and a generous measure of the Barges' popular bicentennial ale or maybe the Local Ruby Red 8oz Rump Steak, Roasted Tomato, Mushrooms and Chips £13.50
And Carl hasn't forgotten traditional pub classics such as Beer-battered Fish and Chips or Bangers and Mash with gravy and vegetables. Another hot favourite at the Barge is the home-made 6oz burger, cooked to your liking in a crispy bun; with chips and topped with cheese and tomato chutney, £9.00, yum! Carls 'plain and simple' generously filled, freshly baked Baguettes with Chips £7.00 or the Traditional Ploughman's with salad at £8.50 are a tasty lighter bite. And for those in the know, a 'Brewin'; a genuinely classic dish of Wiltshire Ham, double free range eggs, chips and salad £8.50, all washed down with a pint of Croppie - heaven!
Carl believes in Keeping Sunday Special and you deserve to tuck into a fabulously tasty and traditional British Sunday Roast with all the trimmings £9.50.
But remember to leave room for his tempting home-made desserts. Some of our recent favourites have included Savannah's Scrumptious Apple & Blackberry Pie, Delectable Dark Chocolate Brownies with Chocolate Sauce, Luscious Strawberry & Vanilla Creme Brulee - always a winner!
